Allan Alday, Owner & Dance Specialist


Born in the Philippines, Allan moved to Jacksonville in 1982, and currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach.  He pursued a degree in Business Management at the University of North Florida.  He started his professional dancing career in 1991 as a dance instructor with KDC Studios and later became the manager of its Jacksonville Beach  location. He later became a franchise owner in 2001 and soon after, changed its name to Dance Alday Ballroom & Latin Studio.

He competed professionally with three different dance partners and have won Pro Rising Star in American Rhythm.  Allan currently competes throughout the United States with his students in the Pro-Am division in all four styles, American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Ballroom and International Latin.  

 His passion and extraordinary ability to teach has led him to receive numerous awards as being one of the top teachers in the nation, and  has won numerous scholarships monies with his students in many prestigious competitions.  The studio itself has won many Top Studio Awards in these competitions.  In 2014, Dance Alday won  7 Top Studio award which includes, Holiday Dance Classic in Las Vegas, St Pete Classic, Jacksonville Star Ball, Ft Lauderdale Classic, Tampa Bay Classic, Florida Dance Classic Series, and North Florida Dance Challenge .


His major accomplishments include:

  • United States Pro-Am Rhythm Champion and Smooth, Standard, and Latin Finalist
  • Six-Times First Coast Classic Top Teacher Recipient and Fourteen-Times Finalist

  • World Master Pro-Am Smooth Champion and Rhythm and Standard Finalist
  • American Rhythm Rising Star Champion – First Coast Dancesport Championships
  • United States Ballroom Championship Top Standard Teacher Finalist
  • Choreographer – Local production of “Six Dance Lesson In Six Weeks“


Carolyn Morris, Dance Director & Specialist


Carolyn grew up in Sydney, Australia and began dancing at age 9. Her training includes ballroom, latin classical ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary. Carolyn has performed with the Australian Opera Company.  She performed  in Japan and Thailand before working with Carnival Cruise Lines in the USA and Caribbean. 

She has competed professionally in both American Rhythm and Smooth styles, placing in the finals. She has been teaching in Jacksonville for over 12 years.  She now continues with her passion and love for teaching dance and competing with her students. The greatest fulfillment is seeing other people grow and blossom through their journey with dance, knowing you had a part in helping them. 








Megan Wallace, Dance Specialist


Megan specializes in Latin and Salsa dancing.  She graduated from The Florida State University where she received her undergrad degree in Exercise Science.  While pursuing her undergrad education, she started her dance career in Tallahassee.  Since moving to Jacksonville in 2007, she has continued teaching.  With over 11 years of experience, she enjoys teaching, performing, and competing in all levels.  Such as Manhattan, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Miami.  She loves helping her students with whatever goals they may have, but particularly has helped make dreams come true for many wedding couples. 


Adam Horna, Dance Specialist


Instructor Adam Horna has a passion for dance that began at an early age.

Growing up in his parent's ballroom dance studio in Ohio he started performing at age five and continued to explore different styles of dance including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, as well as American Rhythm and Smooth. As a young teen he competed in national competitions and performed at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Adam has trained with professionals such as Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo, Mia Michael, Jean Marc Genereux and Alain Doucet. Since relocating to Florida he has become a member of our staff and is ready to share his passion for dance from social to competitive level.
